Moon In The Gutter Is One Year Old Today

It was one year ago today that I first sat at this computer and started this blog. That first day was spent trying to figure out how to post a picture (which I sort of did) and writing three short articles on Claude Jade, Terence Stamp and Lou Reed.
I just wanted to thank everyone who has continued to visit here, with special thanks going to those who have commented and emailed. I have been thrilled to make some great new friends and hear from some of the folks I have written about. I think I have also improved as a writer, at least I hope so after over 550 posts this past year.
I am sure my slightly schizophrenic tastes have run a few people off, so I really value the people who continue to stick with me and have mentioned Moon In The Gutter on their own blogs, sites and various message boards.
I am going to keep doing my thing here, and I hope people will keep visiting. Thanks again, and thanks to the much missed lady pictured above who inspired me one year ago today to start writing again.

Congrats, Jeremy! I really enjoy reading your blog. I try to visit it as much during the week as I can. I've been really thrilled with the posts that you do. I've learned so much about films that I've never seen or even heard of. Plus I get a new perspective on films that I have seen over the years. You do some fantastic writing here. Great job. I wish you all the best. Good luck with all your future projects.

Your "slightly schizophrenic tastes" are a key part of the reason I keep coming back. Congrats on the anniversary!

Some of the artists you talked about wrote to you? That's terrific. You write with such appreciation and humanity of your themes that one shouldn't be surprised. Great blog, congratulations! :)

Congratulations on your first anniversary, Jeremy! I'm always very interested to check in and see what's on your mind. I like the very cute ways that you used the shots of Claude Jade, a face that could brighten the darkest day. Season's greetings!

Jeremy, I knew how talented you were and the broad range of your interests before you started your blog. Even so I have been amazed many times over the past year when reading your posts. You have found your calling and I hope new opportunities for publication continue to come your way. I salute you.

Hi Jeremy,

A friend had put me in touch with your site back when you did the piece on Sinatra's "Watertown" album a few months ago. I've been reading it ever since! Yes, your tastes are perhaps "schizophrenic" as you say, but I find much of your movie tastes in line with mine, even though I am admittedly less eclectic than you in my music tastes.

Your writing ability is great - you state your opinions on things quite eloquently. Also, I find that there are subjects you post about that give me ideas on stars that I'd like to caricature for my own blog - the Kim Novak one being a good example. I check out your blog each day and really enjoy reading your latest thoughts on films and such. Congrats on your first year at it!

Jeremy--

Congratulations to you on hitting the one year mark! It's always thrilling to see what you're writing about and amazing to see how many times something new and exciting appears. You have one of the best blogs out there and a passion that I sometimes find myself aspiring to. Thanks for linking to my own blog and for offering up so much support. All the best to you in the coming year.

Thanks so much Tim,
You know how much I have apprectiated and valued your support here.
I have seen those pics of Claude pop up on several sites and they bring an immediate smile to my face, so I couldn't resist putting them up here.

Thanks Jan for those very kind thoughts. Your support means so much. Thanks again.

Thanks Brandon...it has been great getting to know you and I can't wait to have the chance to watch and write on PTA's new film.

Thanks Robert,
I am a big fan of your writing so those words mean a lot. Keep up the terrific work.

Thanks so much Pete,
