Diary of the Dead

I am sure most of you have already seen this but, just in case you haven't, here is the trailer for George Romero's new film DIARY OF THE DEAD. Also here is a link to an early and mostly positive review of the film from Variety.
Any new work from Romero is worth getting excited about and this is easily one of my most anticipated films of the year. I hope the picture does well for the great man and apparently a sequel is already in the works.

Thanks for posting it. I had seen it, but I like watching it again. When I think of zombies, I think of Romero. I'm glad to see him back again with another one. It looks good. I'm hoping that it will be. Plus any more zombie movies he has coming down the line are fine by me. So what did you think of Land of the Dead?

Thanks Keith...I know a lot of people didn't like LAND OF THE DEAD but for the most part I really enjoyed it. I had a few issues with some of the casting and I really think he should have made Asia the lead but I thought it was a really respectable entry in his filmography. It's my least favorite of the series but this is one great set of films we are talking about here...

I'm also really looking forward to Diary Of The Dead. I was a little disappointed with Land Of The Dead the first time I saw it (and found it interesting that the scene that most captured a Romero zombie film was the scene with John Leguizamo in Dennis Hopper's neighbours apartment that was added for the unrated DVD - that was a perfect scene!), but on recent reviewings Land has grown on me more.

It may not match up to the three earlier films for me but it is still a really good film and probably the best of the recent zombie revival. (I don't really rate the Dawn Of The Dead remake that highly!)

Thanks Colin,
I love that scene as well and think it should have been in the theatrical cut...
I like the DAWN remake okay. I certainly don't hate it like the CHAINSAW remake. I really dig Sarah Polley and enjoy her in pretty much everything she does which helps...there is no comparing the remake to the original though. The original DAWN OF THE DEAD is one of the heavyweights...

That's how I feel. It's my least favorite of the four of those. I still enjoyed it. I do wish Asia had been the lead. She wasn't in it quite enough. I still enjoyed it.
