This is what I've planned my next MS blog post on. I just saw this movie again a few days ago. I love it. It's my fav Elvis movie. I love seeing the pairing of him with my fav 60's sex symbol, Ann-Margret. The sparks certainly fly between them two. They have great chemistry together. The singing is wonderful. I love all the songs, especially songs like "The Lady Loves Me" and "My Rival." Ann-Margret is gorgeous here so I can't blame any of the men from falling in love with her. The choreography is great. The laughs, romance, etc. are all top notch. You nailed it. It's so easy to make fun of Elvis' "sunny, fun musicals". Granted some aren't going to win any prizes. However, Elvis had a natural flair for comedy and in Viva Las Vagas that shines through. The music is great and every scene between Elvis and Ann-Margaret is "hot, hot, hot". When I saw it on the big screen for the first time in over 40 years, I was surprised to see how well it was filmed. The race sequence was so real my stomach was turning over. No, these movies will probably never be recognized as great art. But they do make you feel good and what's wrong with that?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
