I appreciate it. I discovered her very young as well and she has always meant a lot to me..."The Misfits" was my favorite film as a teenager and it is still a movie that means a lot to me (and would still be on my top films list)...thanks again for the comments.

I've always had a special place in my heart for Marilyn. The first time I saw her was as a kid when I came across a picture of that famous Playboy cover. I've enjoyed all her movies I've seen, everything from Bus Stop to Some Like It Hot to The Misfits (my fav). She was a great actress. I think so many people see her as a ditzy dumb blonde with lots of problems with drugs, men, etc. She's definitely a legend and one of a kind. This was a great tribute blog to her.

Bus Stop is such a great movie and I enjoyed reading all the nice things you said about Monroe. I'm always amazed when people think she really was that silly ditzy blond they saw in so many movies.

She made some terrific comedies, but my favorite Monroe films are always the ones where she gets to show off her dramatic skills like Don't Bother to Knock, Niagara and The Misfits.

Bus Stop and River of No Return (which I watched recently)are also both very good.
