I wanted to take a moment and give a huge recommendation to Oren Shai's Condemned, a remarkable short film that is currently streaming over at Oren's official site. This dazzling 14 minute film is a beautifully shot, and wonderfully realized, genre-bending tribute to Women in Prison films, Noir, Italian Westerns and Fifties Melodrama. Featuring a quite haunting lead performance by Margaret Anne Florence (watch out for this marvelous young actress) and a sharp supporting turn from the striking Aprella, The Condemned is one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises I have had in quite awhile and I highly recommend everyone follow the link above and give it a look.
