Polanski's Tess At Nostalgia Kinky

If any readers of Moon In The Gutter would care to visit my other blog this week I would greatly appreciate it. I will be covering Roman Polanski's TESS all week over there and any comments or thoughts would be most welcome. So far I have posted my main review of the film and will be looking at many other aspects of it in the next few days such as the photography, score and some other surprises. The film is one of my favorites and it is with a mixture of excitement and hesitation that I write about it. I hope anyone who chooses to visit will hopefully enjoy the posts, the link is over to the right.
It will be business as usual here at Moon In The Gutter and I hope to post something new later today. As always thanks for the support to the people who continue to read.

I'm looking forward to it - I've not seen Polanski's film but I like the novel and the DVD is in my 'to watch' pile! (Along with Macbeth, Oliver Twist and The Pianist - yes, I still haven't seen even that film yet!)

I thought I'd post to tell you about the great episode of Alan Bennett's Talking Heads series which featured Julie Walters as a loveable bimbo who never catches on that her latest role is in a porn film! Perhaps the best parts are when she compares her experiences on her latest film with her past role as an extra on Tess and berates the director for not treating her with the respect Polanski did, along with not letting her wear as many clothes as she had on that previous film!

Thanks Colin,
Hopefully my review of Tess is pretty 'spoiler free' so it won't ruin too much for you...I have yet to see Oliver Twist but highly recommend those others you mentioned...I think Brody's performance is one that actually deserved to win the Oscar...
Talking Heads sounds really funny, I will have to give that a look....thanks for the comments.

I'd better warn that that particular episode is the only out and out comedy. The rest all have funny moments but are pretty bleak!

I'll definitely check it out. This is one of the first movies I ever saw her in. It's been years since I've seen it, so I don't remember as much about it as I should. I'll have to watch it again sometime soon.
