I love those stills of Haddonfield. Those are my favorite moments in the movie, with Carpenter able to build a feeling of isolation by how lonely and empty the town looks. One of the best visuals in the movie is how we see almost no one else on Haddonfield's streets, even though it's Halloween there are almost no trick-or-treaters.
Great shots. I love the look of the town at Halloween. This has always been one of my favorite times of year. I love all the decorations for Halloween for one thing. Plus the colors of the leaves, etc. add to it. I love the visuals of this film. Carpenter really hit that and so much more right on the head.
I agree with adam ross in that those first few stills show how lonely and empty the town looks which subtly creates a feeling of unease in the viewer. That's what I love about the film, the horror kinda creeps up on you.
Thanks guys,
It was a tricky as hell not capturing moments from the film taht are totally iconic...glad they proved enjoyable.
Donald Pleasance has a pleasing name, and I hear that he often smelled like fresh baked bread...
