I enjoy spaghetti westerns, and I enjoy Kaus KInski's acting, so I really should see this one.

It sure is nice to see some love for this terrific Italian Western. The interplay between the Silence and Loco in the film makes for a really fine twist on the standard tropes. There aren't too many original Spaghetti Western's out there, so it was nice to see something different in this one. Plus Trintigant and Kinski are two awesome leads.

As your screencaps show, Corbucci made damn fine use of the snowy environs. Just some fantastic stuff to look at there.

Corbucci created such a beautiful yet utterly unforgiving and depressing world with this film, one of the best spaghetti western there is (up there with Leone's if you ask me).

The Great Silence is also my first Corbucci and it actually made me enjoy Django in a way I don't think I would have if I had watched it first.

*Spoiler* After previously witnessing the demise of Silence in TGS and seeing Django struggling with his gun, broken hands and all, I was quite sure he would die face in the mud looking absolutely pitiful... God, was I surprised!
