Phenomenal images: this is a great reminder of just how stunning and striking this film is. I was comparatively unmoved by El Topo, but this film I find really impressive and just overpowering in its mystical, surrealist narrative.
This is a great, great, strange, strange movie and I'm so happy to see someone giving it props. It always seems to get overlooked when in comparison to El Topo but, if you're willing to go along with it, it is just as rewarding.
Thanks guys, I really dig EL TOPO but, to me, this is just a much more haunting, resonate and all around more brilliant film. Incredibly imagry, one of the great last shots ever and what a powerful soundtrack....I appreciate the comments.
Not to take away from your post, which is great - I did this same thing a few months back and it's interesting to see which frames we chose, some overlapping.

Saw this a year or two ago when it finally became available on DVD. Didn't know what to expect--loved it. Especially that ending! Brilliant.

Definitely one of my all-time favorites as well. It is so stuffed with imagination. A thrill every time I see it.
