Here's some really exciting news for Italian film lovers in The United States. Italy's influential RaroVideo label is launching a U.S. label and one of their first releases is going to be a box-set dedicated to one of Moon in the Gutter's favorite directors, Fernando Di Leo. This set includes Di Leo's legendary Milieu Trilogy: Caliber 9 (Milano Calibro 9), The Italian Connection (La Mala Ordina) and The Boss (Il Boss) as well as his 1976 work Ruler's of the City. Milano Calibro 9 is a particular favorite of mine so I am thrilled to see it finally released here. I hope Raro brings the all the extensive extras from the Italian DVD over as well.
