I realize that there are several films that Takashi Miike has made since 1999's Audition that would have been more obvious choices for this series over Imprint. Hopefully though Moon in the Gutter is anything but obvious, and few films disturbed me more this decade than Imprint. Miike's film from the should have been great Masters of Horror series layed to waste the other films offered to my eyes, which isn't to say that there weren't quite a few valuable contributions, and Imprint is visually and psychologically one of the most truly unsettling works of horror since the early days of Cronenberg.
