Brilliant. Totally agreed about this film, and about Denis herself. Her films are just so gorgeous and poetic, even when, as with this one, they're also drenched in blood and violence.

I've got her Vendredi soir lined up as a future installment in my own "Films I Love" series, but I could just as easily have picked either Trouble Every Day or Beau travail as the representative Denis film.

Yes! I'll be writing about this film later this month for my Decade List.

JEREMY!

HAPPY TO SEE THIS FLICK GETTING SOME LOVE. BEATRICE DALLE IS STAGGERING.

"Staggering" is probably the most appropriate adjective I've ever heard to describe Béatrice Dalle.

Thanks so much guys. I know some folks consider this a lesser Denis film but I find it (and Dalle ) staggering. Its haunted me since I first saw it after it import DVD. It's hard to get status in the states is a real shame.

I was not so taken with Trouble Every Day, but Dalle in Inside (À l'intérieur)was pure terror.

Will, I agree with you; "Inside" (and Dalle in it) is fantastic. It just never lets up and its got the pace of a whipcrack. It's also probably the bloodiest flick I've ever seen. Very intense.

I was very disappointed in this film. Mostly due to Vincent Gallo who I find a very unappealing prescence on the screen. He's brought down every film I've seen him in.
