Great stills. For my money, very few directors can beat the run Lumet had from '73 to 1982-"Serpico", "Dog Day Afternoon", "Network", "Prince of the City" and "The Verdict". Sure there are a few dogs in those years as well ("Lovin Molly" and "The Wiz"), but those 5 more than make up for them.
Yeah, Lumet is the man. I love his corrupt cops/NYC politics films, like SERPICO, PRINCE OF THE CITY, NIGHT FALLS ON MANHATTAN and the criminally underrated Q & A.
Thanks guys, Lumet and Pacino are both so amazing and SERPICO has always been a real favorite of mine. ...and JD, you reminded me that I need to revisit NIGHT FALLS ON MANHATTAN and Q&A very soon.
Al Pacino has produced some of the best acting performances in movie history. The Godfather movies were carried by Pacino, and Scent of a Woman, Scarface, and Carlito's Way were all Oscar caliber. I consider him the greatest actor ever, and Im not sure anyone else is even in the discussion.

You're right about Lumet's truly golden period. I even have affection for MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS!
