What a beauty! Monica Vitti certainly delivered an iconic performance in this film and I always felt that Antonioni's best films were the ones he did with her. She was his muse.

Fabulous picturesl,Vitti has been one of my top favourites since I first saw her. I have the Criterion L'Avventura and she looks terrific in that interview, as she does in the 1966 Le Fate episode.

I've loved Monica Vitti in everything I've seen her in, including Joseph Losey's very underrated Modesty Blaise.

Thanks D,
Count me among the fans of MODESTY BLAISE as well. Thanks again...

Ah, any aspiring actress should watch Monica. She's incredible here. Red Desert is another example of her magic.

Thanks Steve,
I'm happy to see that Monica was the subject of one of my more popular posts here in awhile.

Jeremy, good to find someone else who loves Modesty Blaise. Possibly not Dirk Bogarde's greatest role, but definitely his most fun performance.
