Totally different contexts in aesthetically different films, but - man! - do those closing scenes complement each other.

Yes, so different and yet they do complement each other nicely. Strange to think about how populated the field of Italian horror was in the early seventies when Evelyn came out and how barren it was around the time of Stendhal (and still today). Sad, and I thought comparing these two very fine (imho) but very different films seemed sort of fitting.

The ending and final shot of THE STENDHAL SYNDROME are heartbreaking and haunting...great film.
