I love those shots at the end where the veneer is peeled away: what had seemed like a sexy, carefree dance suddenly becomes something sad and tawdry. Rodriguez doesn't do anything that touching or real very often, especially since most of the rest of the film is just over-the-top refried grindhouse sleaze.
