When I first started work on my book about Sylvia Kristel last year one of my main dreams was to interview the legendary Oscar winning composer Francis Lai about his memories of working with Sylvia on his mind-blowing EMMANUELLE 2 soundtrack, so I am bubbling over with euphoria because this dream has become a reality. My extremely valued ART DECADES contributor Marcelline Block has conducted a lengthy phone interview with Francis about his memories of recording that landmark soundtrack, his time with Sylvia in the studio and at Cannes. To my knowledge this is the first time Francis has discussed in detail his memories of working with Sylvia on one of the most mesmerizing theme songs of the seventies. This interview would not have been possible without the incredibly gracious Mr. Lai and his unbelievably kind wife Dagmar and, of course, Marcelline.

R.I.P to the legendary Roger Moore

The incredible Roger Moore has sadly passed away at the age of 89. Sir Roger George Moore was one of the most charming, charismatic and talented actors of the past fifty years and he excelled in an astonishing range of genres from action to comedy to drama. He appeared in nearly 100 films and television shows throughout a career that stretched from the mid-forties all the way up to the present. My very best to his family and friends. He was a truly unforgettable actor and human being.

FULL CIRCLE Fan Channel on YouTube
Longtime readers here will know that one of the films that I am most passionate about is Richard Loncraine's stunning 1977 masterpiece Full Circle (The Haunting of Julia). While this mesmerizing work is still unavailable on DVD or Blu-ray fans are becoming more and more vocal about their love for it and some exciting things are happening. There is a very active Facebook page dedicated to the film where you can keep up with news about it and see lots of vintage material. There is also an upcoming article about the making of the film by Simon Fitzjohn in the upcoming issue of The Dark Side. Last, but certainly not least, Mr. Fitzjohn has started a Full Circle Fan Channel on YouTube which I invite everyone to subscribe to and follow. Two videos have been posted so far with more to come Fingers crossed that this all leads to one of the great films of the seventies finally getting the special edition home video release it has so long deserved!

Jean Rollin Podcast at Daughters of Darkness
Diabolique's excellent podcast Daughters of Darkness has just released a terrific chat focused on 3 films by Jean Rollin. Inspired by Tohill and Tombs' incredibly influential Immoral Tales, hosts Samm Deighan and Kat Ellinger focus specifically on The Nude Vampire, Fascination and Living Dead Girl on this 105 minute podcast. Like all of the Daughters of Darkness episodes, this talk is an essential listen for genre and cult-film fans in general. It is highly recommended.
