This was an interesting film, though it didn't quite work for me overall. And Stefania Sandrelli was underused! Fascinating stuff nonetheless. Have you seen Before the Revolution or Spider Strategem? I just watched/reviewed the first and saw the second a while ago but can't remember much about it. La Commare Secca is also good though quite different from his other 60s stuff.
Is this on DVD here in the US? Or is this some kind of region-free thing?
MovieMan,
First off I haven't forgot your tag. I just haven't had time to put it together but am still planning on it.
I think Before the Revolution Spider Strategem are both probably superior to this film, but it's a personal favorite due to the cast and just how audacious it is. Visually it absolutey blows me away as well.
Tony,
Yes this was a Region 1 sepcial edition from No Shame. sadly, I think it is OOP now.
Yeah, I saw it when it was on Netflix, which it no longer appears to be. Shame. No worries about the tag, Jeremy - take all the time in the world!
